2013 ribbon building

2013 ribbon-cutting preview: 5 ambitious new buildings set to open

With cranes poking into the frigid winter sky and plans for more buildings still on paper, Boston's clearly in the middle of a building boom. But many of the construction cranes have already come down as developers put the finishing touches on buildings expected to transform the Hub's skyline.
At least nine major new Boston real estate developments are scheduled for 2013 ribbon-cuttings, and several more have 2014 openings on the calendar.
The most ambitious projects range from the small – like the Boston Innovation Center in the Seaport District – to the towering, like the 381-unit Kensington, one of the first projects to get underway in what is becoming a Downtown Crossing renaissance. They extend all the way out to Roxbury, where the first in a 14-building project is set to open this year. The list of developers includers Millennium Partners, Fallon Co., The Community Builders and Mitchell Properties.
