Emma Watson wore a black one-shoulder Prabal Gurung gown that showed off her stomach and part of her chest. The 23-year-old posed for photographs in the outfit, complete with black stilletos, makeup, and her hair tied back.
Jennifer Lawrence wore Dior - the same designer she wore to the Oscars - and chose a black dress that ended right above her ankles. She paired the look with black open-toe heels and, like Watson, had her hair slicked back. Minimal jewelry was wore by the Hunger Games star but Lawrence broke off from the black theme with bright red lipstick.
Ashley Greene wore a Marchesa gown that had gold detailing along its bodice. She matched the dress with a gold clutch and also wore not much jewelry, allowing the dress to be center stage. She gown was strapless and had a ample amount of tule under it, exaggurating the actress' slim figure.
Les Miserables star Anne Hathaway went for a more form-fitting black gown, designed by Valentino. The edgy look showed the newleywed's cleavage and she said she was trying to stick with the punk rock theme, going hand-in-hand with the MET exhibit on display titled Punk: Chaos to Couture.
Other stars that wore black are Taylor Swift, Jessica Alba, Nina Dobrev, Miley Cyrus and Beyonce.
The gala benefit's co-chairs were actress Rooney Mara, co-founder of Moda Operandi, Lauren Santo Domingo; Creative Director of Givenchy, Riccardo Tisco; and Editor-in-Chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour. Beyoncé served as honorary chair.
