1. Cleaning: Brushing your Lab every week is a good idea to remove dirt and loose hair during sheding season. Brushing also helps move the oils form his coat for a glossy appearance. Clip the nails every 3 months. You can do this yourself or with a Vet's help. Labs are prone to ear infection due to poor air circulation in the ears so, check the ears twice a month and keep it clean. Brush the Lab's teeth regularly and give detabones to avoid mouth diseases.
2. Food: Good dog health care starts with providing your dog the right forms and amount of nutrition. Choose food according to the age and size of your dog. If it is a puppy then feed it three times a day until it is 3 months old. Avoid food intended for all ages as puppies need additional nutrients and calories for proper growth and energy. Provide them with a regular food schedule and avoid giving humane food like oily dishes, which can lead to health problems. Change the drinking water all the time. The water should be clean and without bacteria and dirt. Give good amount of water as the pet dog needs to be well hydrated.

3. Exercise: Labs need to move around and exercise their muscles to avoid gaining unwanted fat. Overweight dogs get health problems so give plenty of exercise time. Take them out for daily walks to the lawn or backyard to run, play with frisbees and balls.

4. Vet visit: Take your Lab to veterinarian for vaccinations and start giving vaccinations when the Lab is 2 months old. All vaccines should be up to date and ask about the monthly medications to protect them from heart worm. Serve food with warm water till it is weaned and gradually reduce the water quantity in food until it starts eating hard kibbles. Even reduce feeding to two times a day after it is 3 months old.
Labrador care is enjoyable if you are interested to play with it. Give space to your dog and sometimes allow it to get cosy on your bed as it makes him feel like your close pal.
